Telecommuting refers to workers doing their jobs from home for part of each week and communicating with their office using computer technology. Telecommuting is growing in many countries and is expected to be common for most office workers in the coming decades. How do you think society will be affected by the growth of telecommuting?

In contemporary times, many have started working from their homes. This new arrangement has been hailed as a path breaking technology that has  brought numerous benefits along for the society. However, one cannot deny that there are some failings associated with this new concept.

The growing prominence of working from home has affected all the stratas of the society positively. Many have benefited by being able to forego the pain of commuting, helping them achieve better work-life balance, consequently, augmenting their efficiency. Moreover, the establishments have also gained immensely in the form of reduced operational costs, in the form of lesser outlay on electricity and transport. Additionally, this setting has proved to be a  boon for the environment. A recent research has  revealed that since one million people in Delhi are working from home, it has taken approximately five million cars off the roads, thereby  reducing the emissions of harmful gases, and tremendously improving the quality of air.

However, it will be too naive to ignore failings of this concept. People have become prone to sedentary lifestyles which is taking a toll on health. A recent study has suggested those working remotely are more likely to develop fatal cardiovascular disorders. Also, man being a social animal, long term confinement to the home can hamper mental wellbeing too. Similarly, this setting has left many feeling despondent and depressed as they are unable to socialise and interact with the outer world which earlier was a source of relaxation for the most.

To conclude, in my view,  although telecommuting has  certain serious pitfalls, it is highly incumbent for personal and economic development of a society. Therefore, if the associated challenges are  addressed effectively, the sky will be the limit for making work and life happier and healthier.

Shopping habits depend more on your age group than anything else. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Shopping habits depend more on your age group than anything else. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Why age defines the approach towards shopping?

  • A conventional belief that age is the driving factor that makes people embrace distinct shopping attitudes: young people go for fashionable clothes, new gadgets, while the people in middle-aged and  old-aged group and tend to focus on the needs of their families and budgets

  • The shopping forays of youngsters are  fueled by peers, public icons and are frequent, whereas that of older people is need-driven and occasional

What other factors are more relevant

  • The wealth: there is a clear demarcation between the affluent - passion driven or a hobby, the middle income  and low-income groups a means to fulfill the requirements,  and the  impoverished - an endeavor to fulfill basic needs.

  • Availability of resources and circumstances is also influencing buying practices

  • The attitude of being a spendthrift, or prudent spender it is rather an innate skill

  • In contemporary times, people are adopting buying patterns that are in vogue

  • With the technology developing and companies releasing upgrades regularly, people are embracing consumerist attitudes - use and throw, regardless of their age and economic background.

  • Conventional and dynamic attitudes

  • Gender dependent - women shop more than their male counterparts

The debate around factors that define shopping patterns is the most heated. While some think that the age of shoppers is the influencing factor, others think differently.

A large lobby of people believes that shopping has become a critical part of the society which totally depends on the age of shoppers, while some suggest that there are other factors underlying this propensity.

To begin with, a school of thought propounds that age plays a crucial role in the shopping approach of individuals. For instance, young people are more inclined to purchase brand new products to keep up-to-date in the fashionable era and flaunt their possessions among their peers, while the people in their middle age and golden years try to buy something that aids them in fulfilling their basic necessities. Also, the shopping list of youngsters are more influenced by well-known celebrities, seniors and neighbors, which include modern clothes and latest gadgets. However, this is not the case with the older shoppers as they shop for medicines, food items and home equipment.

Having said that, some commentators believe that wealth plays a pivotal role in ascertaining shopping tendencies. The affluent buy what they like, but those with average incomes always go for the things that are high on priority; similarly, the underprivileged section shops to fulfill their basic needs. Moreover, buying attitudes are also sometimes influenced by genders as women shop more as compared to the men. Additionally, advertisements, especially ones featuring celebrities, are also an essential attribute that many times propels audiences into a buying spree. Adding to this, businesses keep releasing new versions of equipment such as mobiles, creating an inclination to use and throw and one repeatedly shops them, despite not having enough money to buy.

Overall, I fail to concur with this notion partially that shopping depends on the age alone, but also directly, or indirectly pivots on the amount of money, time and need to buy something.

Some people feel that equality between the genders has already been achieved while others feel there is considerable progress to be made. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Why do some feel that gender equality has been attained?

  • Women are touching new heights in every profession even in the challenging ones such as military and other hazardous work

  • They are leading from the front in many fields, in businesses, politics and some have also ruled the countries

  • They are switching roles with men with the former becoming a earning hand and the latter looking after household chores

Why do some feel that gender equality is still a distant dream?

  • Barring a few societies, many communities, especially the orthodox ones, are still to transform their thinking process and allow women some freedom: like letting them out of the homes alone, affording them education and privileges at par with males.

  • The conventional perception of women being responsible for child rearing is still to be abandoned

  • * Even though women are getting jobs in many organizations, they still face a gender bias when it comes to deciding about leading positions: they are rarely afforded top management positions

A school of thought believes that concurrent society has attained gender equality, but some commentators assert it is a long way to go in this direction. The following paragraphs shall delve deeper into both the arguments and draw a plausible conclusion.

Those supporting the notion of lack of discrimination on the basis of gender profound that females do not play a second fiddle (subordinate/less important) role to their male counterparts anymore; they have been empowered by the regimes through various statutes that bestow upon them the right to vote, gain education, engage professionally in any domains per their choice and make their own decisions without interventions. Consequently, their participation in various walks of life: professional and social, has incremented tremendously, making them share rights and privileges at a similar level with their male counterparts.

Similarly, sex-based egalitarianism(equality) is clearly reflected in the conspicuous (visible) presence of women in leading positions, sometimes the top, such as Indira Nooyi heading Pepsi, Mary Bara leading General Motors, and many more, highlighting dramatic transformation in the approach of society towards its almost 50 percent population, wherein it is rendering more space to the women.

Nevertheless, the other section professes that this is just the beginning of a long uphill journey that targets age-old conservative attitudes, and attempts enlightening society about the evils of this social stigma(shame) that constraints females from stepping out of their homes, and their traditional roles, depriving them of even fundamental privilege: voicing their opinions. Their complete emancipation(freedom) cannot be attained until all are benefited and given equal rights.

In conclusion, even though the progress made in the direction of affording level playing field to both the sexes, more intense efforts need to be invested to ensure that discrimination against women is permanently erased from the human memory.

INTRO

The great public discourse of contemporary times is aligned with the issue of gender equality. While some profess that concurrent society has attained, some remain unconvinced and opine that it is still a long way to go in this direction. The following paragraphs shall examine both the perspectives and emanate plausible conclusion

Intro 2

The debate surrounding gender equality is the most heated in the concurrent society; on the one hand, an army of people is convinced that it has been achieved. On the other, a host of social theorists believe that it is still a long way to go.

Some people think that young people should be ambitious. Others believe that it is fine to not to have big aims in life. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Some people think that young people should be ambitious. Others believe that it is fine to not to have big aims in life. Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

Why some think having goals is essential for youngsters

  • In personal, social and professional paradigm, this provides a purpose to life

  • Teaches about devotion to a goal

  • It keeps one motivated

  • One learns to find ways to attain those,

    • bringing them knowledge,

    • experience and broadening their perspective by facing thick and thin,

    •  and of course making them creative

  • Brings financial, social and personal affluence

Why some think about not having goals

  • It can make one self-centered

  • Chasing objectives exposes one to hardships; facing stress or overwork,

  • Go into a disconnect from those around: staying away from nears and dears, abandon social relations

  • If one fails to accomplish their goals, one feels dejected and lost

  • Expose one to physical and mental ailments

Intro 1

When it comes to defining objectives for the future, many feel that this should be a mandatory practice for young individuals. However, the other lobby exhibits its disinclination towards the former suggestion. The following paragraphs shall delve deeper into this matter and share a justified conclusion.

Intro 2

Some people suggest that it is essential for the young generation to define what they want to attain in their life, whereas the other lobby is disinclined/disinterested in subscribing to this practice. This essay intends to delve deeper into this debate and emanate a justified conclusion.

Intro 3

While it is true that the young generation should establish some objectives to give a purpose to their life, some are averse to this practice, for they fear this might deprive them of enjoyable moments.

To start with, determining  (discerning) aims at a young age affords a clear vision for future in all walks of life: personal, familial, social and professional, and act as roadmaps that one uses to tread to fulfill aspirations and expectations of diverse realms/spheres, and experience satisfaction. To exemplify, Dr. Nikita Dudeja, a famous human behavior specialist, professes that the youth with an eye on the future are more organized and content since they get to see things happening as per their expectations, and enjoy the exploits of their planned efforts. Such  individuals are known to lead a happier life than their directionless counterparts.

Similarly, this propensity can make one vulnerable to new skills, inventiveness and a hard working approach. To corroborate, Professor Uroosa Khan, University of Technology, Toronto professes that, the goals persuade the energetic young individuals to find ways to surmount barriers obscuring their targets, garner proficiency, and discover radical solutions to reap their desired outcomes.

Nevertheless, there is some skepticism about this habit; some fear that this might predispose them to hardships, and mental and physical afflictions, tying them to their obsession of gaining access to things they dearly crave for, and making them work recklessly, thereby detaching them from their families, social circles and surroundings, robbing them of the opportunities to enjoy their life, and making things miserable for them.

In hindsight, even though the reservations against harboring ambitions might hold some substance, a life without aspirations, and expectations, is bound to be without direction and structure, and make things chaotic in the long run.

Today, many people do not know their neighbors. Why is this? What can be done about this?

Today, many people do not know their neighbors. Why is this? What can be done about this?

Reasons

  • Lack of time due to professional and familial obligation.
  • Whatever time is available is used for outings with the families.
  • Cultural, ethnic and linguistic barriers create a lack of trust and interaction.
  • Lack of facilities  that promote interaction: parks, community centers.
  • Age differences.

Solutions

  • Organizing regular festivals and events at communal level that especially involve children
  • Creating communal spaces in the close vicinity of each neighborhood .

Concurrent neighbourhoods carry an air of alienation, stemming from disparate causes such as dearth of time and various barriers, and need judicious remedies to afford these surroundings a friendly facade.

This  trend is driven by an overwhelming involvement with professional obligations of a majority of families residing in a colony that leaves them with little time to interact with those living next door. To corroborate, it has been observed across several cities around the world that the majority of urbanites are either engaged in long working shifts that may last up to fourteen hours, or rotational shifts, leaving them exhausted and disinclined towards connecting with anyone beyond their families.

Similarly, diverse ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds are also leading to gaps between co-inhabitants of a locality. Several residents admit that they are unable to meaningfully converse with others living in close proximity of their houses, due to incompatible ways of life, rituals, and even sporting attire, engendering a lack of trust, and thus, a disinterest in knowing each other.

Nevertheless, the panacea for this predicament lies in promoting an active dialogue at the community level by creating venues, and facilities to bring people populating  a locale together. This can be done by organizing communal events, like festivals, and occasions of national importance, among others, regularly, and mandating participation of everyone in the area. Moreover, establishing parks and green buffers, close to residential areas, can encourage more outdoor activities, and engagement, among neighbours, thereby bringing them together.

In hindsight, paucity of time, and lack of compatibility due to difference in cultures, of those inhabiting an area, is precipitating absence of contact with each other, but holding events at the neighbourhood level can resolve this issue.

Introduction 1

Concurrent times are witnessing a strange phenomenon, wherein the households occupying a neighbourhood are unfamiliar with those living around them. This can be attributed to several reasons, but there are plausible remedies available on hand.

Introduction 2

It has been observed, today, that the households living in a neighbourhood are unfamiliar with those occupying the space around them. This essay shall elucidate the reasons behind this phenomenon, and suggest some plausible remedies to mitigate this situation.

Some people believe that children of all ages should have extra responsibilities (for example, helping at home or at work). Others believe that, outside of school, children should be free to enjoy their lives. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Some people believe that children of all ages should have extra responsibilities (for example, helping at home or at work). Others believe that, outside of school, children should be free to enjoy their lives. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

An army of people suggests that young minds should learn additional responsibilities, apart from pursuing academic curriculum, whereas some vehemently dissent with this and suggest that they should be free from such activities, and rather enjoy their free moments. I will elucidate both the aspects and wholeheartedly exhibit my disagreement with the former notion.

To begin with, those advocating for  this suggestion  propound that young age is the ideal time to inculcate new traits. One should harbor some sense of responsibilities beyond schooling: household chores, gardening, car cleaning, to name a few. This will enhance their skills in other sectors of life apart from curriculum development. A recent study done in the UK suggests that those who acquired new habits in their early teens were more prone to becoming self-disciplined and determined, and surmount problems.

However, some child behaviorists suggest juveniles are already overburdened with the formal curriculum: prolonged classroom sessions, long list of topics to complete within a dedicated timeframe. They are expected to excel academically; therefore, enjoying their leisure time is deserving, for it can mitigate stress. Not only this, one should not constraint them with such extra obligations. This would further reduce their ability to effectively negotiate their studies: hampering their health  and mental ability to concentrate on one task at a time. To corroborate, a recent study in the UK suggests that cognitive decline is seen in many youngsters who are deprived of engaging their mind in leisure activities due to being unable to bear undue stress; consequently, impacting their focus.

In hindsight, undoubtedly, achieving new modalities in formative years will make them more responsible in adulthood, but this learning should not come at the cost of education and health, making it warranted to let them be free of extra tasks.

Some people today prefer to get advice for medical problems and do not want to visit a doctor. Why is this? Is this a positive or a negative development?

Some people today prefer to get advice for medical problems and do not want to visit a doctor. Why is this? Is this a positive or a negative development?

Reasons why people stay away from visiting medical practitioners

- Lack of trust: the diagnostic methods being used today and number of erroneous assessments coming to  light

- Many also feel that doctors today are just like other professionals - inclined  to make money

- The time spent in waiting to meet a doctor is immensely increasing and people not want that

- Online resources available today are rich enough to give a detailed information about symptoms, about ways to treat the ailments and which tests to undergo

 Positive development

- People are now able to keep a check on their health instead of waiting for a doctor to decide their condition

- They can take precautions in advance and act accordingly and also decide what course to follow

 Negative development

- People are jeopardizing their health and life: diagnosing an ailment just on the basis of certain common clues can be lethal: doctors carry exposure and expertise to judge the intensity and suitability of medicine

- This is also creating pessimism in society and making people apprehensive

A strange propensity is being observed among many people who are inclined to seek suggestions on their medical conditions and forgoing paying a visit to a qualified practitioner. This can be attributed to several causes, it can be regarded as favourable and unfavourable evolution depending on the perspective of the observer.

This trend is driven by availability of sumptuous information online in the form of various verified websites where thousands of experts in medicine from diverse corners of the world share their experiences and knowhow of symptoms, evolution, testing and dispensing medicines to treat almost every known disease, disorder and ailment. Besides this, the inputs available can also inform individuals of the severity of their medical condition. Therefore, there are several who instead of squandering their time waiting for their  appointment, inform themselves about their problem more conveniently.

This has been hailed by several commentators as a step in the right  direction since now those ailing can enlighten themselves about their condition and also assess the seriousness of their problem, allowing them opportunity to decide upon the next course of action, besides, taking precautions to evade any undesirable consequences.

However, a prominent lobby of medical experts is quite concerned about this newly evolving propensity: this is making people susceptible to severe outcomes that could also jeopardise health, as well as life. Qualified and seasoned medical professionals are the only ones who can judge the nature of disease accurately, by evaluating commonly occurring symptoms and determining their relevance, and afford a suitable intervention, whereas the probability of erroneous assessment by untrained laymen is quite high.

Overall, despite this phenomenon becoming more and more ubiquitous and fetching certain benefits, I feel this is an undesirable development and is bound to result in life threatening situations.

Nowadays many people, with families, leave their country to work abroad. Do you think the benefits of this trend outweigh the disadvantages for the families? Give your opinion and include any relevant examples.

Do you think the benefits of this trend outweigh the disadvantages for the families?

  • Nowadays many people with families leave their country to work abroad.

Positive

  • The families can access chances to obtain better career opportunities, lifestyle, education

  • They get to experience diverse environment and develop a better perspective towards the world

 Negatives

  • Youngsters lose the touch with their family members

  • There is a sense of alienation among family members

Contemporary times are witnessing an outward movement of individuals, often leaving their families behind, to the other countries in search of greener pastures. This makes it imperative to analyse whether this phenomenon influences families positively or negatively.

Immigrating  to access employment opportunities often brings in a major benefit in the form of appropriately compensated employment which also helps individuals fulfil their desire of working in environments they crave for. This, consequently, lays abundant financial resources at the disposal of the family members who can use these to afford better education and other facilities, improving their quality of life. Moreover, when people working in foreign countries are professionally satisfied, they tend to interact more positively with their nears and dears back home, letting a happy environment pervade in the family.

Similarly, young members of such families, especially children, are able to capitalise on the exposure gained by their kin employed abroad and use the knowledge not only to broaden the perspective about the world but also explore the opportunities for better education and jobs for themselves. This can be corroborated by citing several studies, which have revealed that kith and kin of those working in other nations tend to access global academic and employment opportunities more effectively.

Nevertheless, the only predicament such an evolution can cause is a sense of alienation between family members and individuals working overseas, particularly the youngsters, tend to lose their emotional connection with those living and working in other parts of the world. This might affect relationships in the long run and never let members of a family mingle easily.

Overall, despite the communication gap developing between migrant workers and their families, such migration for the sake of work fetches humongous advantages. Thus, the positives of this evolution exceed the negatives.

In the future, nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

By virtue of advancement of technological tools and applications and their proliferation in the realm of disseminating information, some believe that the prophecy of paper-based mediums may lose out to soft versions due to comfortability, and disappear. This essay shall profoundly analyze this presupposition and emanate a plausible conclusion.

The ever-growing technology has changed many things around, it has made human work effortless and easier to access, altering the way of collecting information, the younger generation, especially,  has embraced this advancement, making them less familiar with the use of newspapers, or books printed on paper. With the internet being handy, most prefer using their smartphones, or other devices that enable them to update themselves with knowledge about various topics and occurrences, around the world, quickly and without parting with a dime. This phenomenon is expected to proliferate in coming years, making the conventional means of gaining knowledge obsolete,  and eventually, taking them out of favor. Moreover, with environmental consciousness becoming more and more prominent,  it is anticipated that future generations will opt for soft copies and shun the conventional means.

However, this notion is not widely accepted; many believe that there will still be enthusiasts who will remain wedded to access physical copies of newspapers and books in an attempt to get the feel of pleasure by accessing paper-based modes and also their smell. Moreover,  many are likely to stay connected to these age-old tools by using these as a part of leisure activity, in order to gain a healthy distraction from the technology-driven world.

To conclude, I feel that there is a great probability of modern means overwhelming the old ones, and becoming a dominant method of access information, but the traditional ways will still endure due to some dedicated followers of the latter.

Damage to the environment is an inevitable consequence of worldwide improvements in the standard of living. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Damage to the environment is an inevitable consequence of worldwide improvements in the standard of living. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Is rapid strivings for lodging development to improve quality of life causing environmental damage?

Yes?

  • Large scale deforestation is taking place to create  spaces for farming, residential units, commercial complexes and industry - causing a loss in natural habitats: the forests act as lungs for the planet and their clearing is reducing the capability of the environment to recycle the air.

  • There is humongous pollution in all spheres of environment

- air due to smoke from factories,  vehicles, and household

           appliances

- Water bodies are being polluted due to discharge of contaminated

water from industries, farms and households

- plastic that is driving modern lifestyles

  • Reckless milking of nature to fuel industry

No

  • The recent developments in technology are ensuring improvements in environment - use of non-fossil fuel energy source is improving air quality

  • Introduction of concepts like vertical farming and vertical cities is helping restore green cover

  • Recycling is helping slow down exploitation of natural resources.

There is a common perception that progress registered by mankind is accompanied by environmental deterioration. This notion, although has endured for long historically, the circumstances are undergoing a rapid transformation and are bound to detach development from the environment.

The link between the greed of humans to improve the quality of their life and the destruction of the ecology is an exhaustively researched and established notion, as per the lobby of environmentalists. Affording a comfortable life that is populated by all imaginable facilities and amenities, has resulted in rampant deforestation. Over the last three centuries, since the advent of industrialization, large swathes /areas of land have been denuded/cleared  to make way for agriculture and farming, industry, dwelling units, commercial establishments and venues for leisure time, to name a few, destroying several natural habitats, and eliminating  scores of species of flora and fauna.

However, the current technological forays into the fields of energy generation, production methods developing settlements for humans and rendering them facilities, defy the doomsday predictions. The use of greener energy sources, eco-friendly material and techniques, vertical farming and cities, and recycling, to name a few, have usurped (dethrone/overthrow) the conventional belief. Now, any development being registered does not have to completely depend on the offerings of nature, but can be driven by sustainable methods and material being formulated and synthesized. This will not only help de-link the environment from the developmental efforts but also help reduce pollution dramatically, as well as restore the green cover of the earth.

Overall, the relationship between marching forward of human society and ecological balance may have been inversely proportional in the past, but the current developments promise a brighter future for humans, and also for the planet, and outrightly rejects the stated norm.

Some people believe that wild birds or animals should be forced out of the city, while others think they should be kept in the city. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Some people believe that wild birds or animals should be forced out of the city, while others think they should be kept in the city. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

  • Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

  • while others think they should be kept in the city.

  • Some people believe that wild birds or animals should be forced out of the city,

Why not let them live in cities

  • Cities could prove to be dangerous places for them: they could be overrun, or knoacked down by vehicles or shot by humans under the pretext of self defense.

  • They could also pose a threat to the human population.

Why let them live in cities

  • It is humans who have encroached their spaces and not them who have invaded human habitats

  • They control pests

  • Transferring them to other locations could be hazardous not only for them - they might not be able to adapt to a new surrounding, and also the native population of destined location - these beings might transmit disease to them.

A fierce argument has ensued(triggered) over the issue of accommodating exotic creatures in urban locales. Whereas some are in favor of relocating them to remote locations, others insist upon retaining them. The following paragraphs shall delve deeper into this matter, and emanate its agreement with the latter view.

An  army of experts is in favor of moving wild fauna away from the urban environment, for it is felt that this step will only benefit these creatures by ensuring their safety. Their intermingling with humans is likely to jeopardize their safety; they are regularly knocked down, or run over by vehicles, on city roads, and in extreme cases, they are either attacked by pet dogs, or shot by residents, on the pretext of self defense. For instance, thousands of monkeys are either bitten by dogs, or killed by speeding cars or gunshots every year across the world, in various cities like New York and Chicago.

Nevertheless, those critical of the former proposal are up in arms and assert that it is mankind that has encroached the habitats of these animals and birds, and thus reserves no right to evict the latter from the spaces they are endemic (originating) to. Such a move will render them homeless and make them struggle to adjust in the alien environment, owing to changes in climatic conditions, food web composition and competition from the natives of those areas. To corroborate, the moose deer was migrated to forests from Copenhagen in 1998 as a part of a pilot project. This experiment proved to be a spectacular failure as none of the 800 animals survived.

In hindsight, disputes aside, rare fauna are the true inhabitants of regions where cities have appeared, but this aspect does not make them worthy of being ejected from their natural environment.

The debate surrounding co-existence of exotic creatures with humans in urban locales is the most heated, with some suggesting that the former be relocated to remote locations, others protesting and asserting that these should be allowed to survive where they are. This essay shall analyze both the perspectives and share a plausible conclusion.

Some people think that robots are very important to human’s future development. Others think that they are dangerous and have negative effects on society. Discuss both views and give your opinion with relevant examples from your experience.

Some people think that robots are very important to human’s future development. Others think that they are dangerous and have negative effects on society. Discuss both views and give your opinion with relevant examples from your experience.

  • These  machines can guarantee a long term solution for complex becoming work processes that need speed

  • Can perform repetitive tasks consistent

  • precision and uniformity: humans will need the work to be more precise since every sphere of human life is likely to become more sophisticated

  • Safety is what these machines can render to humans since these devices can even work in hazardous and those environment  which are beyond the reach of mankind

  • economical: these machines are capable of working without needing extra overheads

They are dangerous and have negative effects on society.

  • Unemployment. These are likely to cause large joblessness

  • Loss of skills: humans will forget their skills and abilities

  • They depend on an external power source and if that does not become available due to some reasons, humans will become helpless

  • These machines can be easily manipulated and hacked and used against humans

Despite robots  ushering in an era of ease and promises for the furtherance of progress in all spheres of life, there is skepticism about the impact of these machines since certain perceptions enumerate the hazards these could present to society.

There is optimism across several sections: artificial intelligence can afford unprecedented speed and economy, and  the way things are progressing, it is quite evident that future progress will depend on how quickly jobs in the manufacturing environment or in services can be performed  economically. These  devices  are capable of working tirelessly  without needing breaks and also without financial stimulants. This aspect can ensure optimal productivity in all sectors.

Moreover, undeniably, precision is something one cannot discount while using this apparatus. The future will depend on how precisely and meticulously various undertakings can be negotiated. For instance, producing equipment, even household,  for use by humans that is likely to become  more sophisticated, owing to its compact size, will be an onerous task for human workers; however, the automated machines will be able to perform those flawlessly.

Nevertheless, those cynical fear that this will jeopardize human life, and misery will descend in the form of rampant unemployment, especially in the skilled trades, causing widespread poverty and economic pressure of the state, for it will have to support jobless demographics. Additionally, the attenuation of skills – even the basic - is another predicament which is a potential outcome, something mankind ill-afford. With these machines dominating every sphere of work, people will find it hard to retain their knowhow.

Overall, although one can hardly deny the impediments these computerized gadgets are going to erect, the fears are inappropriate since progress cannot be halted on such pretext. Nonetheless, prudent steps will need to be taken to offset the unfavorable effects of such evolution.
