Ielts Essay Global Warming

Rapidly rising global temperatures are a growing menace and a major challenge for mankind in the contemporary times, for these have a potential to jeopardize human life. It is hence, a task of paramount importance to find a plausible mechanism to surmount this pressing problem.

The most prominent of the threats resulting from this phenomenon is an unprecedented increment in the levels of seawater due to rapidly melting glaciers and ice at poles. This has endangered the very existence of the coastal areas and cities like Mumbai, Sydney, Los Angeles and Singapore to name a few, which may be submerged under seawater in next few decades if the warming of the environment of the planet is not arrested right away.

Moreover, the impact of this occurrence would not stop here, as  more and more disastrous effects have become visible in the form of rapid climatic shifts and extreme weather patterns. More recently, extremely long summers with scorching heat in the tropical regions, and extended winters with temperatures dipping far below the freezing point are a new normal today. Similarly, droughts and inland flooding have become more frequent which were formerly unheard of.

The remedy for this perilous weather condition, nevertheless, lies with no one else but mankind, the primary force behind this catastrophic change. It is the need of the hour to immediately halt deforestation so that excessive release of carbon dioxide in the environment can be curtailed. Similarly, reducing dependence on fossil fuels for energy requirements would go a long way in cutting down emission of greenhouse gases.

Hence, undoubtedly global warming is casting an evil shadow on the very existence of humanity and the future of this planet. It is therefore extremely important to take remedial actions as soon as possible.

Nowadays online shopping is extremely popular
Ielts Essay E-Shopping

With more and more opting to shop online, shoppers are experiencing an unprecedented convenience both in terms of time and money. However, this not so old in vogue trend is impacting environment and people. In what ways does it influence both is a matter worth profound introspection.

Undeniably, ecommerce has been hailed as a boon for the environment since that latter is poised to reap rich benefits in long run if this trend gathers momentum. With a majority opting to shop online, they can now forsake the need to visit showrooms and  stores. This surely is bound to bring in colossal savings in terms of carbon emissions resulting from an ever-thinning traffic of shoppers and scaled-down operations of shops and ancillary activities.

Moreover, the advent of this trend has a potential to stem the speed of deforestation. The dwindling number of  walk-ins of customers, making a beeline for shops, has resulted in a dramatic reduction in the requirement of new shopping malls and areas. Consequently, the town planners no more  need to develop new shopping infrastructure by denuding the planet, to cater to avid shoppers.

Nevertheless, online shopping has left several jobless, especially the skilled retail professionals needed to manage the showrooms, and intermediaries. E-portals forego the need to employ specialists in many trades, ranging from the ones designing showrooms, and professionals involved in arranging merchandise on floors to sales and marketing personnel to affect the sales. This has deprived them of their earnings; thus, exposing them to financial crisis and miseries.

In hindsight, controversies apart, ecommerce web portals are  there to stay, and in fact it is surely a good step that would afford a respite environment even though partial. The affected people would surely find a way to adapt themselves to this change.

It is better to save money than to spend it
Ielts Essay - MOney saving
In times when most  of the economies of the world are facing turmoil( unrest), many have resorted to spending frugally since they term it a crucial exercise for a safe future. However, some find it quite inappropriate to exercise restraint when it comes to using their financial resources.

Not being spendthrift and investing in savings of various kinds is considered to be a prudent practice. This view is based on the fact that the future is always uncertain, and one can be exposed to emergencies and crisis, especially related to health at any point of time, in which case it may invite huge medical expenses. To negotiate such occurrences, one needs to have enough financial resources at ready disposal. Such relief is only possible if an individual uses his foresight and puts some of the income into creating a financial buffer.

Moreover, practicing thrift instead of liberal attitude when it comes to using money, also helps people to cushion their later life. It is a common perception that twilight years is a time when most have to lead a solitary life, or be without a job. At such times, every penny saved can prove to be a boon and afford all necessities.

Nevertheless, there are some who  feel that money is meant for consumption, experiencing the exploits of the hard work put in to earn it  rather than putting it aside for tomorrow. They feel that money is fast losing its value due to inflationary tendencies, and it may not fulfil the desires later, so one must utilize it to fetch pleasures today.

In hindsight, I opine sacrificing extravagance and putting money aside for the rainy days and bright future carries substance. Those who believe in being prodigal are short sighted and their prophecies should be overlooked.
